Temple Quest is a directory of temples in Kerala. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the mobile app and this website.
| Data | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | To create and identify your account | When you register |
| Profile photo | Shown on your profile. Optional | Only if you choose one |
| Your town or district, as text | To greet you and sort temples near you. Optional | Only if you enter it |
| Device location | To show how far each temple is and centre the map | Only while the app is open, and only if you allow it |
| Saved temples, bookings and reminders | So they are there next time | As you use the app |
| Notification token | To send you the reminders you asked for | Only if you allow notifications |
| Usage events — screens opened, searches, bookmarks | To understand which parts of the app people use | As you use the app |
Location is requested only when it is useful — when you sort temples by distance, or open the map — and only ever while the app is in the foreground. The app does not track you in the background. Declining costs you nothing but distance figures; everything else works normally, and you can change your mind at any time in your device settings.
Access is requested only at the moment you choose a profile picture. The app does not browse, scan or upload anything else from your device.
Your data is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone beyond the services above.
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Some information is held only on your own device — saved temples, bookings and your notification inbox — and uninstalling the app removes it.
Temple Quest is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it and the app will say so.
